podcatcher on a stick

I used to podcatch on a XDAii, then the screen cracked :-( Never owning an iPod (never even used one) I got a 1GB usb stick with MP3 player, DVR 2 .wav and FM radio (76-108Mhz). (Great buy BTW)

Now my problem was, I'm so mobile, laptop wifi car home work linux XP etc. I needed a podcatcher that moved with me, Its OK having the podshows move after sync, but as I was used to podcatching direct to XDA with FeederReader.com I didn't want to go backward (like all those iPods that need a PC and 20MB of iTunes to enable a podcatch). Well Hey Presto I got it. 'podcatcher on a stick'

'podcatcher on a stick' has all the basic functions to receive podcasts like the other podcatcher-software (e.g. iPodder, Nimq, ...). But instead of installing the software to a personal computer, 'podcatcher on a stick' is installed directly on your audio-device (e.g. a MP3-USB-stick).

We're uploading a new Dr Karl on triple j MP3 every Thursday afternoon. These MP3s are an edited package of Dr Karl's magical hour, Live on Mel in the Morning. It's roughly an hour devoted to the collective exploration of some of the great mysteries of life, such as 'why does the water in the shower slow down just when it gets hot?'. Most packages are between 40-50mins long and are without music.

AOL Adding Podcast Search Tools

AOL is adding new features to help those seeking podcasts. Up today on its AOL Music site is a new Podcasting 101 section, which features a handful of featured podcasts. More expansive is a new partnership that puts the iPodder podcast directory into the AOL-owned Winamp player as the new 'Shoutcast Wire Podcast Directory.' But most significant, I'd say, is that the Podscope podcast search engine from TVEyes will be offered on the AOL site in the fall. Podscope turns spoken words in podcasts into text that can be searched. ....

Sweden: New DRM Tests to Europe

Through the courtesy of Radio Canada International, starting Sept. 12th Radio Sweden will be testing in DRM from Sackville to Europe in English on 15,120 kHz at 18:15-18:45 UTC. The test transmissions will last for at least 4 days
